Hi everyone,
I was working on a transient analysis on my local computer. At first, I got insufficient memory allocated error. I increased the memory allocation factor and problem is resolved. Now, I want to work on cluster. I uploaded .def file to the cluster server and started my analysis. Again, I got the same error. Due to the reason that memory allocation factor is adjused under solution menu not under setup menu, I don't know how to deal with this error. My question is that how can I define memory allocation factor to the .def file. Thanks for your helps. |

cfx5solve -help
will list all the available command. Check for memory related commands for step in the process, i.e. different controls for interpolation, partitioner and solution |

In the CFX-Solver window after changing the memory allocation factor, click the "Save settings" button at the bottom of the dialog. This updates your .def file, which you can then upload to the cluster (together with your .cfx file) to make sure that this setting is utilized. Is this sufficient without the need to edit your job script?
To specify this value in the job script, I believe you need to add "-s 1.2" to your cfx5solve command line, replacing 1.2 with your desired memory allocation factor. Does this work for you? Thanks |

Hello Svetlana, actually I've tried save settings button but it did'nt work for me. Then I found how to change solution settings in setup menu which allows me to embed the memory allocation factor into the .def file. In CFX setup interface, there is a simulation control setup at the bottom. When you right-click it and insert execution control, you could change solver settings like memory allocation factor. Thanks for your help.

I see. Are you running it from outside Workbench? Is it working now?
