Hello everone, I generated one mesh in ICEM CFD and exported to Ansys. In Ansys it shows only nodes and says no elements present. Any idea about the error?? Thank you.

Please provide some more detail: - In what format did you export? - To CFX or Ansys FEA? - What software versions are you using? /C

hi chebeba, Thank you for your response. I am using ICEMCFD 10.0 and ANSYS 10.0. In the output tab i selected ANSYS solver and then exported the mesh. I defined some boundary conditions like type of structural analysis etc.(I tried without Boundary conditions too.)
In ICEM tutorials i found one option to select ANSYS solver from Settings. But i didnt find that option in ICEM Settings Menu. Thatsy i chose output tab for exporting mesh. |

The solver option is located under Settings > Solver.
If you can't find it, it could be because you have the wrong product settings. Go to Product > Settings and select Default, then look for the solver option again. /C |

Oh, and since you're posting on the CFX forum, if you want to import in CFX, you should NOT use Ansys as solver, that is for the Ansys FEA stuff. For CFX you should use Ansys CFX under the Output Tab. /C

Hi... If you're using ICEM10, the output solver should be ANSYS CFX. For other versions, the output solver name is CFX5 (without ANSYS in front). I assume you have checked your mesh and the errors (if any) have been cleared off.

Hello All, I am asking the solution for ANSYS FEA software not for ANSYS CFX.

There are some minimum things you need to do. 1. Output > Select Solver > Ansys 2. Open the Parameters tab/icon and define any of the element types, what you want to output, etc. 3. Open the Boundary Conditions tab/icon and define any that you want. 4. Now Write Output for Ansys.
The minimum would be simple Select Solver > Ansys - then open the Parameters and Apply/OK - then Write Output. This will give you the default output. |
