Hello everyone, I need some help.

now I'm working on an evaporation topic, the working media is liquid nitrogen

my idea is to add 2 subdomains and add source item in them to describe evaporation.

then I need two variables: evaporation speed at the free surface and the area of the free surface

I can calculate evaporation speed by Shuttleworth equation.

but I can't get the area of the free surface in CEL.

as we all know, liquid and gas should separate. So the best is to get the isosurface of volume fraction 0.5 of liquid and find the intersection of the isosurface and the mesh cell then calculate the area of the intersection. This should be the area of the free surface for evaporation.

I find "Interfacial Area Density" for short "areadensity" in CFX reference manual, but there is no example of it, should I use it by mixture.areadensity or liquid.areadensity?

Before you can suggest appropriate ways of doing things we will need to know what you are trying to do. Why are you modelling this? What important effect does the evaporation do? Do you want to track the gas or liquid regions? Or the heat transfer? Or gas or liquid flows? Or something else?
