I am interested in simulating velocity flow in a pipe, where the inlet is flowing in spiral form instead of parallel to the axis. I saw online that we can give velocity inlet profile details as a CSV file. Now my question is how to generate a spiral velocity inlet profile? Can anyone give any suggestions?

I know this question is old, but since I got to it using google, someone else might come to it and need the answer.
One way to simulate spiral flows is doing to the fluid rotate, as is explained in The Mechanics of Spiral Flow: Enhanced Washout and Transport. I've also seen the fluid run through a tourniquet, but I don't remember which paper I saw it on. In both cases the speed on the inlet face can be constant. |
