I am using Pro E for the CAD modelling of a wind turbine due to the complexity of the geometry. My problem started when I tried to import the file into ICEM CFD 5.1 ,ICEM CFD can't import the Pro E file. Using Pro E i saved a copy in CATIA V4 format and ICEM CFD can read the file but the tolerances are wrong. When I try to repair the geometry i can't do it and the program shows a message saying "can't get good tolerance". Can somebody help me?

There's an add-in to pro/E that's installed with ICEM CFD. I don't know if it's an extra cost item or if it's bundled with the basic ICEM CFD license. It uses something called a promif license, but I'm not on the installation side of things so you need to check with ANSYS on how to get it.

This add-in, puts a new ICEM CFD menu on your Pro/E interface. The menu allows you to assign parts to your Pro/E surfaces, and then writes the ICEM CFD tetin file directly from Pro/E. No importing exporting required. Well worth any effort or cost of getting this add-in.

The Pro/E add-on was a additional cost item when I used it in my last job, and a substantial cost at that. However, I would strongly recommend using it since it is far and away the easiest way of getting from high quality CAD to perfect CFD geometry. I didn't understand why everyone always banged on about dirty geometry and problems with meshing until I switched jobs and we don't use Pro/E anymore.
