Hello all.

I have been a very heavy Fluent User for the past 5 years or so, and done a lot with the Fluent part of this site. However, I am about to start a new job where I will have to use CFX exclusively. Can anyone recommend a good place to start? I have access a Unix version of CFX5.7 and the tutorials that come with it, which would seem like a sensible place to begin. As always, any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew

Hi,

Yes, the tutorials are a good introduction to where everything is. Also ANSYS does CFX training course.

Thanks for the info.

I believe that I am being sent on the training course when I start. However, I don't know how basic it will be. If the training course is going to cover everything in the tutorials, then there isn't much point in me doing them. It may be beneficial to have some experience of CFX before attending the training session, I just don't know. If there is any other material (books, websites) out there that anyone could recommend I would be grateful. A search for CFX on amazon produces only hits about casio calculators.

CFX is like a real life. You will not learn how to cope with it by reading books.

Spend some time on tutorials (it's like a kindergarden ). You can have some more detailed and experienced questions on the CFX seminar which you would ask later the support anyway.
