How can I simulate a fan in a cavity

I'm trying to simulate in a cavity the performance of a fan, however, I would like to know if there is a propper procedure to get started with this simulation, I got the rpm, rotation direction, but I would like to get in contact with somebody to explain me which are the time step appropriated to start a run. Thanks
