I was thinking I could simulate a propeller as an inlet/outlet pair. The propeller will be a disk and the front of the disk will serve as an outlet with the back of the disk serving as an inlet. I had played around with it and it seems to work fairly well with a constant velocity. However, my team had given me the thrust of the propeller and I am thinking whether I could use static pressure to get that specific Thrust. That's because the pressure is force/area and I know the area of the disk.
What do you think? Is there a better way to simulate this? |

Yes, there is a much better way. The normal way of doing this is with a momentum course term.

Is that the mass flow rate?
I am only given the speed the plane moves, the thrust and the disk area. Could you please point me in the right direction of how to convert these data into one CFX can understand? |

Oops, sorry, a typo. I meant to say "momentum source term". If you don't know what that means look it up in the CFX documentation.
It is not a mass flow rate boundary condition.
