Dear All,

Please let me know is it possible to use tecplot for post processing CFX5.7.1 results? If yes, how to do that? If it is needed to convert .res r .bak files to ASCI and then back to binary files which can read by TECHPLOT, if so can u suggest any excutables, which have this capabilty. Please provide all needful information to use tecplot for CFX 5.7.1 post processing Thanks for ur time..

Hi Pradeep,

To get your results into Tecplot you need to set the following Environment Variable on your system:

CFX5_EXPORT_CGNS_TECPLOT = 1

Then use the export tool in CFX-Solver to export your results in CGNS format. In Tecplot you will find the CGNS format (CFD General Notation System) under File > Import.

Regards

Paul

i think old tecplot verions like 9.0 and some 10.0 verions can't successfully open CGNS files exported by cfx5.7 or 5.7.1. You can export data from cfx-post and write a short fortran code to transfer data file to tecplot file by yourself. It is not hard. Check your tecplot help file to know which format you need.
