I am working in ansys 9.0 and using flotran module to calculate pressure and velocity distrubition over 2D domain. There are an airfoil profile in domain. Calculations are done, but i need to know drag and lift forces. Does somebody know how to calculate it in ansys?

And if I know lift and drag forces, how can I calculate lift and drag coefficients (Cx,Cy)?

Dear Freind, First you have to calculate total force nornal to aerofoil ( N ) then yu have to calculate total force paraller to aerofoil(P) then yu use formula force = 0.5*density*velocity*velocity*(area)*Cl this will give lift coefficient similarly yu can use for drag coefficient N=Lift P= Drag if yu have further dought then let me know regarding this matter
