Hi all,

I have used FLUENT for a course at my university. How different is it from CFX?

Do most of the CFX users mesh using ANSYS ICEM?? What is the most common CAD software that you CFX users use?

Anywhere i can get the CFX software(for free ) to play around with?

I am just trying to learn more about CFD softwares....

peace!!

Hi,

I have never used Fluent so can't compare. I use ANSYS ICEM and ANSYS Workbench to create meshes, generally from geometry imported from Solidworks or Unigraphics (via parasolid).

The friendly people at ANSYS are usually happy to arrange a free trial of CFX. Contact your local support rep.

Regards, Glenn
