i got this error while solving the radial turbine simulation.
ERROR #002100024 has occurred in subroutine ASS_FLX_BDINIP. | | Message: | | The specified flow direction on boundaries must not be tangential | | to the boundary. However, on the boundary patch | | | | R1 Inlet | | | | a specified flow direction having an angle of 8.3 degrees | | was found, which the solver considers as being nearly tangential. | | Please do one of the following: | | (1) Check your direction specification on this boundary. | | (2) Set the 'Flow Direction Linearisation' to 'Velocity Magnitude' | | in your boundary specification. | | (3) Modify the solver tolerance by decreasing the expert parameter | | 'tangential vector tolerance' below its default of 10 degrees. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ i dont know which point is missing as i checked the R1 inlet many times , but got the same error every time please help |

I don't know what you mean by "missing points" as the error message clearly states that you have defined a flow direction on a boundary which is tangential to the boundary. So you have to look at your boundary conditions where you have defined a flow direction.

yeah actually this is the first time i am using ansys for turbine simulation, this one is solved ..
now the problem is when i tried to run the simulation using inlet condition as static frame total pressure and mass flow rate at outlet. i am getting error of high mach number. please help in this |

Almost certainly this is related to this FAQ: https://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Ansy...do_about_it.3F

I extracted the total pressure data of a converged surface through cfx-post and used it as an inlet for another example(by BC proflie). The same problem occurred. How did you solve this problem?

If you are getting the error message shown above then isn't the problem very clear? The explanation tells you exactly what the problem is. You have an inlet or outlet, but you have defined the flow to be tangential to it.

Thank you for your reply!
I tried to make modifications based on the third suggestion, but 'cfx solver' told me 'license problem'; Then I wanted to make modifications based on the second suggestion, but I looked through 'cfx help' and couldn't find the corresponding option. So I know where my mistake lies, but I don't know how to correct it. |

The error message says that you are imposing a velocity on an inlet, opening or outlet which is tangential to the face. This is not valid. You need to have a look at your boundary condition setup and find which boundary you are doing this on and fix it there.
