CFX-5.7.1 on Intel Xeon & P4 EM64T

Dear All,

Does anyone know if CFX-5.7.1 will work on a Linux PC (Redhat Linux WS (v.3) for EM64T) with an Intel Xeon EM64T or P4 EM64T processor?

Hi,

Check the documentation or the website for a list of support platforms. However CFX does not currently support the 64 bit extensions to the Xeon or P4 chips, so you will be running in 32 bit mode only.

I did check the community website & hardware requirements in the manual, but nothing was mentioned about these processors. I guess I should assume that unless explicitly stated, it probably isn't supported.

Do you know if the 64bit extensions to these processors will be supported in 5.8?

Hi,

I understand the plan is to support Intel EM64T & AMD Opteron chips in 64 bit mode on SuSE 9.1, SuSE 8 and Redhat Enterprise 3.
