CFX_transient state simulation

I'm trying to solve a problem of a liquid flow on which an specie is injected. I've already simulated the steady state flow. When I simulate the transient state, the simulation become too slow, because all the equations keep being solved.
Does anybody knows how to simulate the transient state without keeping solving the equations of steady state? I want to run just the additional variable equation with the profile previously calculated and converged. |

Hi Aline,
I am not really sure If I understood what you want to do. I believe that you what to solve a transient problem, which is related to the transport of a tracer species (but the fluid flow is steady state). Since the concentration of the tracer species does not affect the fluid flow velocities, you want to stop the solution of the momentum equations and continue only with the solution of the transport equation for the tracer species. Am I correct ? I am not really sure if you can do that using CFX. If you find out how to do it, please, let me know. Cheers, Neyval |

Hi,
Yes, you can do that. Turn the velocity, pressure (and temperature and turbulence if you have them) off with expert parameters. The expert parameters you are looking for are "solve fluids", "solve energy", "solve turbulence". Then use your previous solution as an initial condition and it should work. Glenn |
