Hello.
I'm modeling a combustion chamber with a complicated ignition. It contains several spark generators, located in different places and triggered at different times. I need advanced spark ignition simulation method to be able to configure everything manually: location, delay time, nonspherical sparks, maybe even a movable spark (electric arc in a magnetic field).

Default spark ignition model in CFX is no good for this. It can create only one spherical spark. What's worse is that it completely overwrites the domain state when generating a spark. (For example, if you save the flame front created by the first spark, then rewrite the conditions in CFX-pre and set up a second spark - the flame front will disappear when the second spark is triggered.)

I learned the "Expressions" workspace well, and I can create initial conditions in a domain with very complexive shape (the oncoming combustion front, toroidal vortices, etc.) I can also create the time-varying logic of boundary conditions (for example, to launch a shock wave through the inlet).

But now I need a tool to forcedly overwrite the state of the desired point in the domain during the trancient run. (To increase the pressure and temperature there depending on my own algorithm.) Does the CFX contain a something like this?

You can always go to first principles and do your own source terms to achieve it. You can do just about anything if you define your own source term.

There may be hidden beta features to allow this sort of thing but the only way of finding out is by contacting ANSYS support. The documentation gives nothing beyond the spherical spark ignition method, so what you are talking about is not supported by the released models in CFX.
