Default Tide angle problem when meshing

Hi, I'm having a problem creating a surface mesh for a car body. It is tide angles that cause the problem. How ever it's impossible to avoid it in CAD model if I want it to represent real car closely. For example when modelling rear underbody diffuser - it starts at shallow angle from flat bottom. So there's a tide (2.8deg) internal angle at start of diffuser side wall. It HAS to be there - what to do??? I was making a relatively fine mesh with MC on car body with 20mm lengh scale. Trying to put a Point MC at that tide angle with lengh scale 0f 0.1mm didn't help.... Please HELP!!! Thank you Ted

Hi Ted,

Are you using CFX-Build or ICEM CFD 4.CFX?

Hi Glenn, I'm using CFX Build. I'd like to add to my question. I can still make a mesh when after warning message. Question is how bad it is for mesh quality and ultimately how does it effect results accuracy?

Thank you Ted

Hi Ted,

I've moved onto ICEM CFD 4.CFX now and am trying to purge CFX-Build from my mind. This means I can't help you with the meshing problem unfortunately. As for the warning message, the proof is in the pudding - have a look at the final mesh with CFX-Post and decided yourself whether the mesh is acceptable. It has a number of tools for analysing mesh quality.
