Hi, Are any of you running CFX-5 and CAD2mesh on a Sun-solaris 7 Ultraspark 64-bit machine? The license managers supplied with CFX and ANSYS are unable to start both the daemons CFXd and ansyslmd. I have tried using a single License manager to start both the daemons, only the native daemon starts the other one fails. Have you tried using a single License manager for this platform?

Thanks

Hi Danie,

This sounds like a question for support. However, you might want to try a few things:

1) Check the SERVER line in the license file has the correct network name for the computer 2) by default, then next line in the license file is "DAEMON CFDS $CFX_ROOT/license/CFXd $CFX_ROOT/license/license.opt ". Make sure the $CFX_ROOT/license/CFXd" correctly resolves to the CFXd.exe executable (or its equivalent in Solaris). Maybe try replacing it with the path explicitly, rather than using a variable. 3) Try starting the license manager from the lmtools application rather than using the CFX&ANSYS license managers. The licensing setup is not as nice using this application, but it is another way to do it. 4) Another option would be to get your hands on a more current version of flexlm than the one which comes with CFX. The current flexlm version is 9.2, but CFX 5.6 come with 8.1. Your problem might be fixed with a more current version of flexlm (A licensing problem I had with an MSC product was magically fixed by moving to a more recent version of flexlm).

Hope that helps, Glenn
