I use keyframe meshes with Multiconfiguration setup.
The motion is periodic. How to create loop in Multi-configuration for periodic motion instead of manually creating so many configurations? Please help. |

Would a session file help?

Can you please explain that?
For gear mesh simulation, I use keyframe meshes with multi-configuration. Once a tooth reaches the position of next tooth, is there any way to loop the last configuration to first configuration? Thanks.. |

Record a session file in CFD-Post of the actions to record one tooth worth of simulation. Stop it and have a look at the session file it generates. You may be able to make it loop over all your configurations but editing the session file to do looping or other structures.

Again that becomes a manual looping. As of now, for the next cycle, I make the next configuration, with the Flow analysis of first configuration and with the initial values of last configuration. This method works but it is tedious. So I am looking for a automatic looping method.
Thanks. |

Have you looked at a session file? It is not manual looping. I have done many repetitive complex tasks in session files.
You can use perl inside the session file to do looping, if/then/else, internal variables and so on. Or you can write a big session file which automates all the tasks with no perl, but you use something like python to generate all the details and generate a text file. This is my preferred option as I am more familiar with python than perl. Or if you are looking for a button to press and it does your task.... well, I fear you are going to be disappointed.

Thanks ghorrocks :-)
I found perl's power syntax will satisfy my requirement |
