I would like to perform a 2 way FSI simulation using Structural and CFX. Any expert who could help me ?

This was done in CFX in 2016. But I could not get the time to make tutorial of it.

Thank you very much for your reply, but the links you provided me are not what I am looking for. I am seeking for something more specific. I have watched plenty of tutorials in youtube but I still cannot find my way.

If you are looking for somebody to show you exactly how to do your simulation then good luck......
You normally have to take an example which is close and adapt it. Alternately, you could explain what you cannot work out in your simulation and we could try to give methods to solve it.

Dear ghorrocks, Thank you very much for your reply, no I don't try to find someone to do my simulation. I just want some guidance from someone expert. That's all. So, here's the situation. I am studying microfluidics and I have a microchannel and a solid part made from PDMS (polydimethylsyloxane). What I did so far was 1way FSI, taking the pressures from the CFX and load them into Static Structural. By doing that, I was able to see the deformation of the solid part. The issue here is that I was not taking into account the new flow after the solid's deferomation. And I was wondering what's the best option: 1. To take (somehow) the deformed geometry from the Static Structural and study the new flow or 2. To solve the problem by coupling the CFX with Transient Structural ?
P.s: The flow is constant and doesn't change with the time. |

Hello ... I tried system Coupling between CFX and Transient Structural and I got these errors... Any ideas ?
Update failed for the Solution component in System Coupling. The coupled update for system Copy of Non Newtonian Carreau 40% threw an exception. The solver failed with a non-zero exit code of : 2 (DP 0) The unconverged solution (identified as Substep 999999) is output for analysis debug purposes. Results at this time should not be used for any other purpose. (DP 0) The solver engine was unable to converge on a solution for the nonlinear problem as constrained. The structural solver diverged.

All the normal things for divergence - smaller time steps, better mesh quality, better initial conditions.
But for FSI check also - that the motion is still sensible and the FSI coupling looks reasonable.
