Heat Exchanger probelm - CFX

Hi Ghorrocks,
I had posted one query but i dint get any reply to my post, so texting u my problem here. I have one Heat transfer problem to be solved, below is the brief explanation. Pipe dia 18mm having 1mm wallthick (Copper) where inside the water flows to certain length say 60mm length, Outer region is having enclosed region where the hot air is made to flow (air chamber) at certain velocity with initial temp 600 deg c. Here i am expecting heat transfer to happen from HOT air to copper wall (1mm) and then from solid to water domain. Air Domain 1 - Fluid (Air) Material - Air at 25*C Air in - 0.5m/sec with 600deg c static temp Fluid value : Air - 1, Water - 0 Air out - Avg Static pressure - 0 Solid Copper Domain - Solid (Copper) Material - Copper Solidwaterinterface Solidairinterface Water Domain - Fluid ( water) Material - Water Water in - 0.25m/sec with 25deg static temp Fluid value : Air - 0, Water - 1 Water out - Avg static pressure - 0 Interfaces: 1. Air - Copper interface, (Interface model - General connection),Heat transfer - Conservative Interface Flux , Interface model - Thin material - 1mm - Copper 2. Copper - Water Interface, (Interface model - General connection), Heat transfer - Conservative Interface Flux , Interface model - Thin material - 1mm - Copper I have given Auto time step. after run of 300 iterations i am not seeing heat transfer happend from solid to water, temp diff between water IN and OUT is very less. This is my first project in heat transfer work bench. Note - I have used prism layers for copper solid for both interfaces and also on conjugate surface for air domain and water domain. (~ 6 layers) Please i request you to guide me on this? |
