Can any body tell me what's the advantage of running CFX post in Batch mode and line interface mode or if i rephrase, please quote some examples, where using batch mode and line interface mode will be advantageous?

Thanks,

Swapnil.

Batch procesing is very good for running optimisation procedures where you are only interested in one or more numerical reports (not in colorful pictures) e.g.drag force etc. This job can be done fully automatic.

Hope this will help you Swapnil.

Hi KG,

thanks for the reply. Will you please elaborate a little bit on what do you mean by "job can be done fully automatic" in context with the normal CFX operation mode.

Best Regards,

Swapnil.

P.S. I have never used Batch mode before

You can out your fluid flow simulation in optimization loop. In such case you must to parametrize your geometry (or fluid flow conditions or whatever that will be paramterized). Optimization cen be done by changing these parameters. Here it is psedo code:

do while not(END)

1.Change your paremters

2.Create your new case (CFX-Build)

3.Solve your new case (CFX-Solver)

4.Calculate fitness function for this new geometry(CFX-POst)

end do

Hope this will help to you.

Best Regrds,

KG
