hi everyone, I would like to use CFX5.5.1 to model a three-phase flow: continuous fluid phase of water, dispersed solid phases of sand and clay. The fluid consisting of three phases is non-newtonial fluid. So far I encountered following problems:
In reality, the fluid consisting of three phase is non-newtonial fluid, rather than one of its phase. Whereas in CFX 5.5.1 I have to specify the viscosity of each phase including solid phase. So shall I specify the viscosity of continuouse fluid phase as non-newtonial or the viscosity of solid phase. Furthermore, can i use complex consitution equation to specify the relationship between shear stress and shear rate. I mean can I use an expression to express the relationship between shear stress and shear rate instead of using an simple expression to express the relationship between dynamic viscosity and shear rate. thanks for your inputting. You can input any expression for non-newtonian viscosity. Either by CEL in Build or by User Fortran for more complex relations. In CEL, you can use the variable sstrnr for Shear Stress rate for defining your viscosity, for instance. Please refer the manuals for details. Hope this helps Ribeiro |
