Hi
In Ansys CFX Two-way FSI tutorial: "Oscillating Plate with Two-Way Fluid-Structure Interaction" use four steps and an additional Pressure Load as initial(In transient structural module). my questions are: 1- why is the reason of this additional pressure? 2- Is it OK, If we don't use this additional pressure and just use one step? Best Regards, |

The tutorial overview states "An initial pressure of 100 Pa is applied to one side of the thin plate for 0.5 seconds in order to distort it. Once this pressure is released, the plate oscillates backwards and forwards as it attempts to regain its equilibrium (vertical) position."
If you don't apply this force then the only deformations will be from the fluid motion. These motions might be a bit small in comparison. |
