i have created a rectangular tank and am using VOF method in cfx to simulate sloshing. I want to give reciprocating translation motion to my tank. For rolling motion to tank there is an option to give rolling motion to domain. How do i give translation motion in x direction only. Is it possible to do this using CFX or should i switch to fluent.

If you use rotating frames of reference to do rotation it will not include rotational acceleration terms, so if they are significant your simulation will not be accurate.
If you want to include the rotational acceleration terms, or in fact any arbitrary motion (including translation) then you should use moving mesh. |
