I use CFX 4.4, ICEM 4.0. I try to export a teitin file to a iges file from cfx-hexa, ---> Export Geometry ---> Teitin -> IGES, but it was failed.
How to do this correctly. BTW, it is possible to import the geometry file from ICEM to CFX-Build? Thanks |

Hi
There may exist some problems with your geometry and by now I can't tell you what it is, sorry. But, why do you want to go back to BUILD? Why don't you create your hexaedral mesh in HEXA and then export it to your desired solver? Since I'm not too familiar with DDN, the CAD tool of ICEM (CFX-HEXA), I make my geometry under CFX-BUILD, export to IGES, opening then under the CFX-HEXA. Regards, cfd guy. |

The mesh has been generated, and I have do some caculation on my CFX-solver. I just want to have a try if it is possible to import the geometry file from cfx-hexa to BUILD. Maybe the reason is the teitin file include mesh data?

windhair,
Basically, you work with three files in CFX-HEXA, tetin, block and domain files. A tetin file is purely geometry and boundary conditions. Tetin files are manipulated in the Mesh Editor (MED). When you run HEXA you'll create your block file. This block file will generate your mesh. After done all the adjustments you can generate a domain file. The domain file in conjunction with the tetin file will generate your solver file (.geo, .msh, .grd, cfx5, etc...) I can say that if you want to get back to BUILD you should export your IGES file and open it under the pre-processor. However you're having some problems with that. Good luck, cfd guy |
