Dear all
When I write a defination file in CFX5.5 build, an error occured, 'Error reported from application CFX-Build5', 'Error during the creation of the defination file'. Could anyone help me? Wendy |

Hi Wendy,
Well, a general error message like this can mean lots of different things... Maybe the mesher has a problem because your CAD geometry is not well chosen. My experience is that usually the mesher is the problem, for example that it can not generate cells between small openings, or on curved surfaces. Have you tried to create a definition file without writing a mesh (yet)? Is there more information in your history (check your session or journal file)...? Good luck, Sjoerd |

Wendy,
I had the same problem this morning, and the same error came up. The cause of the problem was that there was enough memory for the creation of the definition file. It has now been resolved and works. Regards Jennifer |

Wendy,
When you run Build, a temporary directory is present in which, a log file is created during meshing and creation of the def-file. Monitor what is written in this log file. The information might give you a hint. Astrid |

Do you use file or directory names with spaces? If that's not the problem, I am out of options. It can be anything.

Hi Wendy, When I build my model, I always try to make the session file window at the bottom of the screen a little larger so that you can see all the comands being processed. Sometimes in this window you will get warning or error messages come up in blue or red. These can give you an idea as to where the problem is. This includes when you try finally to generate the def file. You can scroll through this window and see what the errors are. Are you able to get a surface mesh out ?? Other problems may be with boundary conditions that may not have been updated, especially if you have modified the Domain physics. Hope this helps Stuart
