Hey guys,
can someone explain to me (maybe with an example) what a '2d locator' as mentioned in CFX is? Is it just an area that I have specified (f.e. an inlet? )as oppsed to a volume? Thank you already |

A 2d locator is a named 2d region of your mesh. These names are generated in the meshing software you are using.
2D means it is a 2D mesh region. That means a boundary face, but could also be a cross section through a 3D mesh. It is not a 3D mesh (which is a volume mesh) or a 1D mesh (which is a line or edge mesh). |

Dear Glenn,
this helped a lot in general understanding. Sometimes the manual isn't enough explanation and I need to hear it in other words So thank you for your reply |
