Hello,
how can I define/implement an additional equation for the heat transport due to conduction e.g. the flow through a porous media with heat transport inside the media. Thanx Sasa |

Hi Sasa,
in \CFX-TASCflow you define the region in tascbob as a Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) porous region. This gives a volume averaged temperature for each of the fluid fraction and the porous solid (conduction) fraction. It is often necessary to add some terms due to the loss of detailed information due to the volume averaging process. This is much like the information loss and closure required when we move from a molecular view of transport to the continuum approach or the Reynolds averaging approach for turbulence. Hi Sasa,
If you are using CFX4.2or3 then you could use the usrsrc.f. Calculate the sources terms (heat) due to solid conduction and return it to the flow solver. Regards Jan |
