Hello everyone here,
I want to simulate pump sump model. For test case I want to simulate simple tank using single inlet & outlet .Plse go through the attached image here. The pump is connected at outlet of tank.Due to suction ,water will enter into the tank2 from tank 1.Now I want to find out height water level in tank. This will give me to select model size for steady state simulation. Plse reply me. Thanks. |

Do the tutorials provided with CFD to understand how the software works. When you have a specific question feel free to post on the forum. The forum is not appropriate for general "how do I model this" questions.

Dear Sir, I did pump sump simulation using Fluent & Cfx but I am not agree with selecting BCS as inlet -mass flow,outlet-pressure outlet. Also I have doubt about deciding height of water level in tank.So I thought to post here.

You have to choose inlet and outlet boundary conditions which match whatever system this device is in. So that depends on the upstream and downstream pumps, valves and whatever else is there.
The water height appears to be set by the hydrostatic heads it generates and the pump performance curve. |
