Hello forum (as this is my first post),
I currently have the problem that I simulate a centrifugal compressor which has to be improved via using splitter blades. One of my goals is to homogenize the exit-flow pattern to improve efficiency etc. My approach is to calculate the variance of the velocities (Mach numbers, vorticity etc). Thus I need to have every cell's value for velocity (as the calculation of variance is somewhat like ² = 1/N (x - x_m)² where N defines the number of tangential "stripes" over which I calculate the mean value x_m. x is the value of every single cell within my "stripe". You can imagine these stripes as the tangential mixing of a stage interface (mixing interface). To make it more comprehensible, I attached a picture of what I mean. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The question: How do I calculate a cell's value to insert it into my formula. If you also know another method to summarize the degree of homogenity of a flow, please let me know Thanks in advance! |
