Hi,
I am running a two ways FSI of a wing with CFX. In transient structural, I assigned the edge contacts (first picture) but I get a penetrating mesh (second picture). When I check the final results, I get an equivalent stress of 37 MPa about the wing root. To verify the results, I run another simulation, but this time I use one single surface for the wing support and the wing skin (third picture). The result I get is only 20 MPa!! Why? 1. Is mesh penetration bad? 2. When I use the single surface to avoid penetration, it looks like the equivalent stress (fourth picture) is not at the wing root (where it should be). Why? Thank you |
