Hi everyone,

I would like to know how can I define a transient (volume) thermal flow (W/m3) outgoing from a solid in CFX pre.

For now, i'm doing a subdomain to my solid where I set the energy source, but I can not add a data table as in 'thermal transient' system.

I've seen that I can set variables and expression for that energy source, but i don't know how to write my energy expression.

(The thermal flow that I should create is a like a squared signal : the period is 2 sec (0.5 Hz), max = 4.7e12 W/m3; and min = 0)

Would anyone like to help me ?

Thanks

So is your question how to apply the source term to give your thermal flow? Or is it how to link it to workbench so you can use the parametric stuff to control it?

Hi Ghorrocks,

I just want to apply a transient thermal flow to my solid in CFX pre by any way possible.

Apply a thermal boundary condition, or a thermal source term or even an initial condition. There are lots of methods available.
