Hi there!

I am trying to run a simple 2-way FSI problem of flow through a flexible tube. The problem is that I can seamlessly run ANSYS and CFX parts separately but the FSI is not running. I have an academic license for separate and FSI both but FSI simulation is giving this error. The main problem I see is the error that CFX_SOLVER license expired the moment I ran the simulation. Which is not the case since I can run the uncoupled simulation fine just after that. I have about 55000 nodes in the model which is below the cap.

Please help!

contact your system/license admin of your school. To me, that seems more straight forward than letting us guess what might be the cause...

The message:
The license CFX_SOLVER expired on 2016/05/22 19:09:45.
seem to indicate that your license for
ANSYS CFX Solver (Max 128K Nodes) + Parallel
has expired? Are you sure you still have a valid license? Have you tried to run in serial?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Both the suggestions were helpful. The problem is solved. The multiphysics and some other licenses were being upgraded at that time so I was unable to run the simulation. Although I checked the licenses at that time... but don't know why they were showing available. This resulted in all the confusion!

Thanks again.

The error message explains exactly what the problem is. It cannot check out a solver license. So somebody else has the license, you are not connected to the license server or the license has not been released properly from a previous run or you do not have that license.

Can anyone give me some help?

There are lots of tutorials for FSI and system coupling, even for older versions of CFX, on the ANSYS Customer webpage. If you are a student and you cannot access that there is reduced number of tutorials on the ANSYS student webpage. So have a look there and do the tutorials.

Gert-Jan will become famous soon enough
This is the CFX-forum, whereas you use fluent. So ask your question in that forum.
And don't hijack someone else's post. Create a new one for your own.
