I am modelling a dam-break scenario. The dam consists of two layers. I hope that two layers can fail at different time. The top layer fails after 10 seconds. The second layer fails after 20 seconds. How to setup the property of these two layers? Do I need to set them as fluid and then change their viscosity? Or do I need to set them as solid and then change to water? Thanks a lot.

The easiest way to do this is to model it as a wall, then stop the simulation and restart with a new simulation which has the wall removed. Repeat for the second dam break.
This can also be done using conditional flow with interfaces. These methods are far superior to what you suggest. |
