Dear all, Hi. Hope all are well. I wanted to ask is there any way to change number of elements/nodes to check grid independency in automatic mesh feature of ANSYS without resorting to use ICEM CFD? Would be grateful. Thanks.

You can use any meshing software you like - ANSYS Mesh will work too.

But if you are asking if CFX has options to do this - the answer is no. No CFX software (including CFX-Pre) has the ability to change meshes. The only exception being you can hide entire regions of mesh, but you cannot edit them.

Thanks Glenn. I want to ask then how can one apply a grid independency check in order to check accuracy of results? I need to apply grid independency to justify my results in a research article and thesis. Would be grateful for answers. Thanks.

This is a FAQ: http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Ansys...publishable.3F

The authors Celik and Roache have written excellent works on CFD accuracy. The link in the FAQ is strongly based on their work. I recommend you read into the area if you intend to publish your CFD results.
