Hi guys,

My geometry is a simple rectangular loop. Is was meshed in ICEM CFD and it`s a 2.5D mesh beacause I use CFX for my CFD simulations. My loop was divided into three regions already in DesingModeler so I could assign the boundary conditions later (I used the slice tool).

I`ve just done the mesh with one element thickness and exported it as .cfx5. Now, when I open it in CFX-Pre I see several 2D regions that I know were not assigned (it is the front and the back of the loop) because they are not walls, nor free walls, nor symmetry.

My question is: these 2D primitives are surfaces is ICEM, should I try to add them to existing parts or give them free wall condition in CFX-Pre?

Sorry if it is not clear enough, if there are any unclear points, please let me know.

I had the same questions. But I dont care about it because the wall I defined is obvious. Maybe other mesh is default such as body and surface mesh.

Problem solved: as default, ICEM CFD creates automatically surfaces with two sides, so just ignore the primitives and CFX will understand that since no boundary conditions is provided, it is just the other side of a surface/wall.
