Hello,

I need some help calculating the right Loss Coefficient for a certain pressure loss in my porous media.

I attached the equation for the pressure Loss in a porous Media. I set the Permeability to 1 [m^2] and I know dp/dx. But I'm unsure about the other 2 variables and especially the Ui. Does anyone know what those variables are and can help me?

Hello Antanas,

I think your answer referes to the Ui. So Ui is the velocity (Ux, Uy, Uz) in [m/s] ?

In my oppinion µ is the dynamic viscosity in [kg / (m * s)], then the units would match.

Exactly. You can find this in documentation.

Hello Antanas,

I need your help once again:

I want to use the equation to calculate the pressure loss trough a porous media. Variables like the velocity are changing trough the poruos media.
Now my question is what value do I need to put into the variables that change, the average of the porous media or the one at the start of it?

Greetings,
Phil
