Hello,
I would like to ask you about the simulation strategy for a case I do. I have a cylindrical tank in which there is a kind of rotating stirrer which is elliptical. There are two problems with this case: -Ellipse major axis length is close to the tanks diameter. -The fluid region is all around the ellipse. I don't want to use the immersed solid since I need temperature distribution in the ellipse. I am afraid that the mixing vessel case is not necessarily feasible in my simulation. Thank you and regards |

It would be pretty unusual to do a rotating machinery simulation with anything other than rotating frames of reference.
Your mesh appears to have very big jumps in element edge length. This may cause convergence problems. |

Thanks. I thought there may be other approaches, it would be interesting to compare different solutions.
Yes this mesh is a first draft, just to make sure the geometry and bc are correct. |
