Hello.
I'm trying to use Blade Generator in order to design always better pump blades. In the "Layer Control Dialog" window I normally find three tabs: Ang Crv, Thk Crv and Output. At the same time the "Create Output from Design Profile" and the "Create Output from Trim Profile" buttons on the "main toolbar" are not active. Now a guy here created a blade so that the Layer Control Dialog have a "Design" Tab and a "Trim" Tab, and the two buttons "Create Output from Design Profile" and "Create Output from Trim Profile" buttons are now active. Could you please try to explain how can I activate these buttons and above all what do these buttons allow? Thanks so much in advance! P.S. the guy doesn't want to help me... |

Hello,
in general, you should use design profile, when you want to create a blade and modify blade angles and thickness. Trim profile can be used to following: - having a new trim definition of same wheel - CFD where you want to use hsg contour etc. You can create a trim profile, by simply right clicking in the main window, where you see the blade - > meridional profile -> create trim profile Afterwards you can swith between trim and design profile output from bladegen with the icons with D and T in the icon bar. Originally I had created 3 meridional spans (Hub, RMS and Shroud) for each of them I had a different angle and thickness distribution. I can see them enlisted in the Layer control dialog, and in the column "Usage" I can see A, T and O. Now, following your advices, I've created a Trim profile with 4 layers. But once these layers have been created, I don't know what I can do with them: it seems I can't create any angle distribution nor a thickness distribution. In other words How cas I characterize the trim profile I've just created? Please, could you help me some more? Thanks, thanks a lot |
