Dear all,

I am posting because of problems with a 2D cylinder flow in CFX at Re=150 and M=0.2. I am using the 4th order backwards Euler scheme in time and the high resolution scheme in space, the used fluid modell is Air Ideal Gas.

According to literature the amplitude of the lift coefficient (Cl) should be between 0.517 and 0.52. But in my results it is 0.532. Grid and time step independence has been shown!
(I already opened another thread some weeks ago because Cp(theta=0)=1.04 and not 1.0, this info might be usefull to understand the Cl-problem, link: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/cfx...nder-flow.html).
Using another CFD code (scientific code; in space and time 4th order accuragte schemes) I had no difficulties to reach the 0.52 with establishing grid and time step independence.

Does anyone of you have a clue to these problems? Thanks you!
Michael
