Hiya,
I want to link 2 PC + 1 Laptop to run CFX using the MPI Distributed parallel processing option. Could I get some help on how to physically connect the computers? Here are the specs:
I run simulations to model the turbulence on the seabed for offshore cables. Thanks very much for your help! |

The instructions to get network parallel working are all in the ANSYS installation guide.
But as a general comment: network parallel works best with similar computers. When you use a range of computers you tend to get a far poorer speed up. You can offset this marginally by biasing the partition size to offset the computer speed but it usually you cannot completely fix it. This results in a parallel simulation which is only marginally faster (or slower) than simply doing it serial or with a smaller network. |
