Hello all,

I'm fairly new to CFX and I'm having difficulties in a a work project.

The project consists of a solid domain (a rotating tube) that rotates partially inside of a fluid. On top of that, there is fluid running inside of this solid domain. The tube is perforated on the middle, so the fluids have to mix. I'll attach a picture to help understanding.

I'm having trouble in how to create the rotational movement of the tube. Also, I can't make the two fluids mix, because the fluid entering the tube goes all the way and exists in the other end defined as an outlet. The tube intermediate holes are defined as openings.

Thanks in advance.

Do you care about the flow inside the tube? Do the holes cause sprays which rotate around with the tube rotation?

Yes. The fluid environment is also water. The idea is that the fluid flowing in the tube goes trough the holes and mixes with the water of the fluid environment.

My question is more about whether the flow in the tube is coupled to the flow int he drum. If the flow in the tube is just a constant flow then there is no need to model it and just apply the jets as boundary conditions on the drum. This is quite a simple model.

I'm sorry I didn't understand your question very well, mainly because English is not my native language. But the fluid in the tube is not constant, the flow is sprayed to the fluid environment with the rotation of the tube. I have both of the fluids modeled in different parts.

Edit: I've managed to make the fluids mix with the tube stationary, I was being dumb when defining the openings.

If the inner tube can be removed and you model the spray jets as boundary conditions on the outer domain that will be much simpler. But if you need to model the inner tube then that can be done as well.
