Hello Sir,
I am trying to model phase change of water the details of geometry, boundary condition and material property for IAPWS table generation are given in figure (please see the image link). My question is 1. Weather the defined properties are correct. 2. Minimum, Maximum Temperature and pressures have to define based on triple point or based on absolute values. 2. If my operating temperature and pressure are T and P. how much the minimum and maximum values must be for generation of IAPWS table. http://s23.postimg.org/az63w2m6j/phase_change2.png For my current boundary conditions i am getting following errors (Warning) please help me to solve this problem Thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ****** Warning ****** | | | | Independent variables were clipped during table generation | | at: END OF TIME STEP | | 0 detailed warnings were printed because the maximum | | number of warning messages was exceeded. | | | | The maximum number of detailed table clip warning messages can be | | controlled with the following expert parameter: | | | | max table messages (default: 0) | | | | Please increase the number, if you need further details of the | | locations and variables involved. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | ****** Warning ****** | | | | Newtons method was either diverging or stalling | | at: END OF TIME STEP | | 0 detailed warnings were printed because the maximum | | number of warning messages was exceeded. | | | | The maximum number of detailed newtons method warning messages | | can be controlled with the following expert parameter: | | | | max newton messages (default: 0) | | | | Please increase the number, if you need further details of the | | locations and variables involved ----------------------------------------------------------------------- And | ERROR #004100018 has occurred in subroutine FINMES. | | Message: | | Fatal overflow in linear solver. | +--------------------------------- |

You need to define the material properties table such that it extends over the maximum and minimum pressure and temperature found in the simulation. So estimate the max and min pressure and temperature, then add a healthy margin and use these as your table limits.
The error message is a big problem - your simulation is numerically unstable so it cannot converge. Does this simulation work if you use constant property fluids (not IAPWS)? |

Hello Sir,
The simulation works fine when i use single working fluid (Water) without phase change. I have attached some results (Please see the attached image). Based on those results can i take maximum, minimum pressure and temperature values for IAPWS table generation (Values mentioned in the figure) or i have to add some allowance to those values. http://s26.postimg.org/r5gbmuomx/phase_change2.png |

You should add a large margin on the max and min values to make your table limits.
