Hello,
maybe it was already discussed but I didn't found anything. For huge calculations with fields and gradients is it better to use Fortran than the CEL? Which one will work faster? Thanks for reply! Thomas |

I almost never use fortran, regardless of the simulation size. CEL does not have much overhead, except if you are using CEL to calculate field variables. But if you are using CEL to calculate field variables you probably want to include it in the result file so you can check it is working as expected - this would apply regardless of whether you are calculating the variable by CEL or fortran, so the overhead is similar in both cases.

Ok thanks for the advice. I don't want to use it for the results file but for the calculation of the drag coefficient using the AIAD model by HZDR. http://www.cfd.com.au/cfd_conf09/PDFs/011HOH.pdf
