CFX Pre & Post Startup Error

Hello everyone,
we currently run openSUSE 12.1 on our machines, however, we are thinking about upgrading to openSUSE 13.1 in the very near future. On our testbed, so far, OpenFOAM 2.3.x and foam-extend 3.1 run flawlessly - not taking into account some hickups due to OpenFOAM specific quirks from time to time. Next task on the agenda would be to setup and test a ANSYS 15 installation. License Manager Setup and Installation is done. Workbench is up and running within 10s, Design Modeler and ICEM GUIs work fine. CFX Launcher starts as expected. CFX Solver Manager works and we can run a *.def as test case in parallel without incident. BUT: When we try to start CFX Pre or CFX Post, after a few minutes, we get following error: Quote:
Maybe one of you guys encountered the same problem and managed to solve it. Your help would be greatly appreciated :) Best regards, Victor |

Hey guys,
since we are using openSuse 13.1, I don't know if it's working for you, too. After adjusting the /etc/hosts file, I was able to use CFX Pre & Post. You need to specify your machine's IP, full host name and short host name: Code:
123.456.78.9 host.domain host Victor |

These are the workbench level errors, and they do not tell you much about what the problem is.
You need to look at the output file of the CFX run. That will contain the detailed error information (hopefully, not always ) |

I couldn't solve it but I think because of under relaxation factors. I didn't try again. reduce them below 0.3 for all of them. hope it works. |

Thank you all the same. And I have known why. I changed my hostname from "localhost" to another name in CentOS 7, so CFX didn't work. If I change hostname back to localhost, it would work normally. Maybe this will help you. Good luck!

I had the same problem in CFX Pre. The best way is by opening the .bak file.
