Hi,
I'm running 2-way-coupled FSI simulations using Ansys and CFX. I managed to make the simulation work on one computer, but as I try to run it on a different computer, it often gives me Segmentation Violation Error (during CFX simulations). ------------------------------------------------------------- ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. Message: Signal caught: Segmentation violation ------------------------------------------------------------- The computer that gives me errors, has 12 physical cores and 24GB RAM. Error occurs at random Accumulated Time Step, and it usually occurs at smaller time step, if I use more processors. Sometimes if I run in Serial Mode, it even comes to the end. I have tried runs with different sizes of allocated memory and trying all of the different Partitioning Types that are available through the Define Run. The fluid mesh has 67 044 mapped elements. I ran out of the ideas, what else I could change to make it work, and would be grateful for some suggestions. Igor |

Which version of ANSYS are you using R14.5?

I have observed random segmentation violation in R14.5 CFX solver. They were caused by license client, when it was run through licence file setup. When I had switched to network license setup (license manager) then all problems were gone.
I am not sure, if it is your problem, but you can try to attach gdb to a running solver instance and then track down where SIGSERV originates. Cheers |

I've been using the network license setup but thank you for the idea.
I have contacted the Ansys support and they suggested it might be a problem in disc sector or RAM. So I ran some tests with "fix if you find error" option, but they didn't show any errors. However after rebooting the machine, simulations ran normal. Thank you for your suggestions! Igor |
