Hello people,
I am looking to investigate biodiesel combustion in a uav as part of my research. I have little to some experience with using 'off the shelf' combustion in CFX but I'd like to be able to set up the combustion of biodiesel (and kerosene) myself since it isn't built into the software. I am interested in the simplest possible solution, essentially a guide on how to set up a generic combustion process. Thank you. |

What type of combustion? In an IC engine? In a gas turbine? Or some other type of flame?

Have a look at the CFX-RIF extension. It generates flamelet libraries for combustion so I think you will be able to model the fuel you are using. Contact ANSYS support for access to it and details of how to use it.

HI ,
I am doing a project work on (Ansys14.5)combustion simulation for methane gas where i am using ic engine fluent premixed combustion for 3d engine. now my question is ...Is here only possible to predict emission? if yes how pls explain or i have to go for species tansport only pls confirm me......... thanking you |

Try the fluent forum. This is the CFX forum.

Been trying to get to ANSYS support, but its oddly difficult. The problem submission portal isnt working and apparently I cant contact them any other way because I'm a university customer. Does someone have a manual or something? I'd prefer to go through it myself anyway.

The student licenses universities purchase come with minimal support. Full-price commercial and research licenses get immediate support. Unfortunately your support request will only get looked at when they have no full-price support requests to deal with.
I have no direct experience with CFX-RIF, other than a knowledge of its capabilities. So I cannot help you, sorry. |

Might be a long shot, but I'm currently modelling biodiesel combustion myself, did you figure out how to do this? |
