Hi there,
I am a new member of the forum! I always find useful tips on this forum so I decided to join. I am using CFX to simulate a wind turbine, meshed on ICEM. After having set up my Analysis on CFX Pre, I would like to monitor the pressure, velocity and turbulence intensity around my model and in the wake. Therefore I set up numbers of monitoring points in: Output Control - Monitor. Each point is defined in cartesian coordinates with the appropriate coordinate and I picked the variable that I am interested in from the output variable list. Then I construct the .def file and run it on CFX Solver. After a while, I get a list of two different errors: 1. Warning: Can't check object /FLOW:Flow Analysis 1/OUTPUT CONTROL/MONITOR OBJECTS/MONITOR POINT:AbsolutePressure1/MONITOR LOCATION CONTROL: Can't find rule. Skipping object and all children 2. Error: Sub-object 'MONITOR LOCATION CONTROL' is not allowed in /FLOW:Flow Analysis 1/OUTPUT CONTROL/MONITOR OBJECTS/MONITOR POINT:AbsolutePressure1 I get the same kind of errors for all my monitoring points I defined and the simulation stops. However I don't understant how to solve it. If you could help me I would really appreciate it!! Thanks a lot! |

I have had this happen to me before. This occured when I built the model in a different version of CFX as the version that I was solving in. I dont recall which was the later version and which was the earlier or which set this happened to me in, but it did occur.
Check that first. Also, did you build up the monitor points using command language or using the GUI? I have had a case where I had an END in the wrong spot using command language. PRE didnt catch the error, but the solver choked on it. |

Dear singer1812,
thanks for your help. I used the GUI interface so no problem with that. Regarding the version I have asked because I am running on the university cluster and I don't know the version installed. It might be that! Any other possible sources? Thanks again! |

Hello there,
I have the same Problem with my simulation. When I start the simulation in GUI, there is no problem. But when I start it in the batch-system of the cluster an error will occure with the error-message posted bellow. I generated the cfx-file with ansys 15.0. The job run in the GUI of Ansys 14.5 and ansys 15.0, so I think it's no problem with different versions. EDIT: I found the problem: It's already a Problem of CFX Version. When i start a job on cluster, ansys 14.0 will be used. The CFX Command Language of ansys 15.0 and 14.5 are incompatible to ansys 14.0 |

Hi Biro!
for me the problem was the version. Use everywhere the same one and you won't have the problem anymore! |
