Multiphase question

Sir, Can you help me with the following problem:

I would like to simulate a situation which has the medium as fluid with small solid particles mixed with them for a research project. This multiphase medium will strike on walls of a cylinder and i need to find its impact on the walls. The cylinder material will wear off a little bit and we need to find the final dimension of the cylinder, after the experiment. The cylinder material is an important criteria for the wearing off.

I did not know which section to post this in and therefore asking for your help here only, as you seem to be an experienced user of ANSYS (i have started learning this software recently only).

Thanks in advance. Sorry for posting here, but i want to proceed further in my experiment as its a final year project.

Have you seen the tutorials in CFX? There is one where it models particles impacting a butterfly valve and it shows the resulting wear rate. This would be a good place to start.

I have gone through the Butterfly valve tutorial. But The butterfly valve tutorial doesnt specify the material. The erosion rate will be different if the material of the valve is different, so is there any way we can specify the material in our problem because there should be different erosion rates if the work-piece material is steel as compared to the situation where the material is aluminium.

And another problem is that how can we measure the final dimension of the work-piece after the simulation. Our final conclusion is based on the final measurement of the work-piece and if we have been able to erode the precise amount of material or not.

Thanks in advance. It would be great if anyone could help out on this as it is a very important project that we have to complete.
