Hi
I have a source of noise generation (Internal combustion engine) which is in a closed space, like a box. this box place in a larger space like a room.I have the noise characteristics of ICE,I mean SPL just beside it. I want to know the sound level and its intensity at any point in the room. also I want to predict which part of box or room is more suitable to be covered by sound insulator (or absorber) to minimize annoying noise? what a strategy do you suggest? CFD, Special software designed for this porous or writing a code using empirical correlations? Thanks to all Ali |

The noise levels in the room is best done in an acoustics software like sysnoise.
The effects of sound deadening materials on the engine would probably be best done in some combination of a forced vibration FEA model and acoustics software. |
